Below is information about the 2002 edition, though we now have access to the 2007 edition which is 4 volumes (not 3).
It is a matter of great pride and professional achievement to introduce to the readers the Encyclopedia of Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia, edition 2002, in three comprehensive volumes. This work was envisaged to serve homoeopathy in classic, immediate and futuristic needs of the science.
It has taken several years of untiring labour and devotion to produce this encyclopedia, which we hope will be able to serve not only students and the homoeopathic fraternity but also pharmacists, manufactures, scientists, zoologists, botanists, researchers and many others related to this field of science. The 3 volumes running into 2960 pages include about 1860 monographs in alphabetical order.
The authors, who have been associated with Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia Laboratory, Govt. of India for several years, have been working on this book for the last ten years. Pressed by the urgent need of the profession it was published in phases.
Volume one 990 pages Abel moshus- Dulcamara
Volume two 991-1880 pages Eberthinum- Ozonum
Volume three 1881-2960 pages Paeonia officianalis – Zingiber
Much of the data in volume two was abstracted from the Homoeopathic Pharamacopoeia of USA (HPUS) and German Homoeopathic Pharamacopoeia (GHP)
This new revised and enlarged edition contains about 1860 monographs of homeopathic drugs in alphabetical order, based on Homeopathic Pharmacopoeias of India, USA and Germany. Apart from the pharmacological name of drug, botanical, zoological, Spanish, German, French, English, Latin and common names have also mentioned.
Edited by Dr. P. N. Varma, Former Director, Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia Laboratory (Govt. of India), Former Director, Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (Govt. of India) and Dr. Indu Vaid.
The drugs have been arranged alphabetically in this new 3 volume pharmacopoeia incorporating also the new drugs.
