Dana Ullman, MPH, CCH, has been studying, writing about, teaching and practising homeopathy for more than four decades. He founded Homeopathic Educational Services in 1975 as a resource for people seeking reliable books, medicines, education and information about homeopathy.

He has authored ten books on homeopathy and natural medicine, including the bestselling Everybody's Guide to Homeopathic Medicines (with Stephen Cummings, MD), Homeopathic Medicines for Children and Infants, The Homeopathic Revolution: Why Famous People and Cultural Heroes Choose Homeopathy, and Discovering Homeopathy — the last two containing a Foreword by the late Physician to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

He has taught homeopathy to medical and pharmacy students, and has written chapters on homeopathic medicine for four medical textbooks — two of them published by Oxford University Press.

Arnica montana 30C — the medicine name in Latin, then its potency. Higher numbers are more dilute, not larger doses. Most home use starts at 30C.

Homeopathy is a 200-year-old system of medicine that uses very small doses of natural substances to stimulate the body's own healing response. A remedy is chosen because, in larger amounts, it would produce symptoms similar to the ones the person has — the principle of "like cures like". It is not herbalism and not a supplement: the medicines are prepared by repeated dilution and succussion, and are regulated as drugs in the United States. Read the full guide →
You match the remedy to the whole picture of symptoms, not just the diagnosis. Two people with the same cold may need different medicines depending on how they feel — restless or sluggish, thirsty or not, better in fresh air or worse. Potency is the number on the label — 6C, 12C, 30C, 200C or LM. Higher numbers are more dilute, not stronger doses. For everyday home use, 30C is the usual starting point; 6C and 12C suit gentler or more frequent dosing, and 200C is generally for experienced users and practitioners. Read the full guide →
Tip the pellets into the cap rather than your hand, and let them dissolve under the tongue — ideally away from food, drink or strong flavours such as coffee and mint. Repeat while symptoms are improving, and stop once you are better; there is no benefit in continuing. If nothing changes after a few doses, the remedy is probably not the right match. We keep U.S. shipping to a flat $8.50 whenever we can — here's how that works, what can change it, and what to expect if you're ordering from outside the USA.

Within the USA

Flat rate: $8.50
  • We try to keep shipping to $8.50, even when your order totals over $30 or over $75.
  • Some medicines are heavier — especially liquids and remedies for external use — which can raise the cost above $8.50.
  • Some single-ingredient remedies ship directly from the pharmacy. Certain pharmacies charge more for faster shipment (often via UPS); we note this on those product pages.

Our goal is always to minimize your shipping cost — but please know that shipping costs generally have increased in recent years.

Outside the USA

Varies by country & weight
  • Cost depends on your country and the overall weight of your order — we email you this information.
  • Orders under 4 lbs often qualify for our lower-cost fixed-rate padded envelope.
  • Insured parcels run $40–$56 outside the USA, and around $35 to Canada.
  • Uninsured parcels are often 20% or more cheaper. Lost parcels have been extremely rare in our experience — that said, choosing an uninsured parcel means you accept that very small risk.
