Calendula Officinalis
Vagical’s active ingredient is Calendula officinalis, which has been used in European herbal medicine for centuries to accelerate the healing of wounds, burns, bruises, grazes, minor skin infections and also for various women’s ailments. During the American Civil War, Calendula flowers were used on the battlefields in open wounds as antihemorrhagic and antiseptic, and they were used in dressing wounds to promote healing. It is well established in the treatment of mucous membranes and skin diseases and is widely documented in scientific trials. Calendula has a broad spectrum of activity because of a wide range of active compounds such as:
· triterpenes, which aid in the flower’s anti-inflammatory and wound healing activity.
· carotenoids, which aid in the flower’s wound healing activity.
· and terpenoids, flavonoids, polysaccharides, chinos, coumarins and volatile oils.
The Calendula officinalis Mother Tincture is prepared according to the French Pharmacopoeia using fresh flowers from plantations located in France.

Step Two: Dampen insert in water that has been boiled, then allowed to cool
Step Three: Insert into the vagina

Inactive Ingredient
The excipient in Vagical is polyethylene glycol. Due to its hydrophilic nature it ensures proper bioavailability of the active ingredient. It does not irritate and is well-soluble in the natural vaginal environment, allowing quick release of the active ingredient. It is also stable in higher temperatures. Polyethylene glycol base is more suitable for vaginal forms than greasy base (which is commonly used) because this component doesn’t stain women’s underwear.
